Ethos of Mi Serenata Tango Lessons

Our teaching concentrates on the technique, a strong connection with your dance partner and the respect, importance and pleasure of the music itself. We believe the music was first before the steps and we teach with that in mind.

In all our classes, students learn our four points of connection in Argentine tango: the music, our partner, the floor, and the others on the dance floor. Those connections ground us and provide the necessary skills toward learning this dance.

Music is carefully selected to aid each lesson so that students are introduced gradually to tango composers & orchestras. Students are given the compilation of music played at the lessons so that they can listen to and be acquainted with it beyond the lessons.
